What it does
SD Mean gives price extension a statistical frame by plotting deviation from a price-based mean against ±1SD to ±4SD references. Its separate panel makes movement away from and back toward the mean easier to follow. Adjustable MA and Lookback settings let you examine how stretched a reading is within the selected calculation window and compare that extension with the prevailing trend.
How to Trade with SD Mean?
Center and direction: identify which side of the mean the reading occupies and whether it is moving farther away or returning.
SD references: use the numbered levels to compare the scale of extensions under the same settings, rather than assigning a guaranteed reversal to one level.
Trend context: examine price behavior when an extended reading begins to contract; a strong trend can sustain an extreme before any meaningful return.
SD Mean Settings
MA: default 119.
Lookback: default 1100.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does reaching 2SD always signal a reversal?
No. It is a statistical reference that should be interpreted alongside price behavior.
